Ascension Parish Family Retreat

Friday, March 23 - Sunday, March 25
Kanuga Conference Center
Hendersonville, NC

Please make plans for you and your family to join us on this family weekend retreat. This time together will provide us with time away from life’s everyday demands to visit with God and each other. Through a combination of learning, recreation, and worship, we will be blessed by growing closer as a parish family and renewing our souls. The beautiful setting of Kanuga Conference Center on 1400 acres in the Blue Ridge Mountains—it can’t be beat!

How do I get to Kanuga?
Directions can be found on the website for Kanuga. http://www.kanuga.org/aboutus/directions/
Here you can find two different routes. There is yet a third route that avoids the Friday afternoon rush hour interstate traffic of Atlanta.
• Take Hwy 411 north from Cartersville.
• Turn onto Hwy 53 in Fairmount, heading east toward Jasper.
• Go 9 miles on Hwy 53 then turn left on GA-136 Connector toward Blaine, GA.
• In Blaine, GA-136 Connector will turn into GA-136. Stay on GA-136 until you reach GA 515.
• Go North on GA-515, through Elijay and Blue Ridge. A few miles past Blue Ridge, turn left onto GA-60 toward Mineral Bluff. This turn will be at a traffic light.
• In Mineral Bluff, turn right onto GA-60 Spur. Follow GA-60 Spur for about 8 miles into North Carolina to Hwy 19/64/74/129. Turn right.
• Just past Murphy, NC, Hwy 64 will turn off to the right. Don’t turn. Stay on 19/74/129.
• Continue about 90 miles to I-40 East. Stay on I-40 East about 18 miles to Asheville.
• Take Exit 46-A onto I-26 East.
• After about 18 miles take Exit 49-B onto US-64 West toward Hendersonville for 2.3 miles.
• Turn left on Church Street for 1 mile.
• Turn right onto White Street for 0.2 mile.
• Turn left onto Kanuga Street for 3.4 miles.
• Turn right onto Kanuga Lake Road.
• Entrance to the Conference Center is about 1.4 miles up on the right.
This route is approximately 218 miles long and would take a little longer than the interstate route, but with traffic in Atlanta, ends up taking less time.
