Jesus being God-made-Human was able to transcend what it meant to be human.  Christ knew that God’s message was love and that God’s love pours onto all of us and we are blessed.  That blessedness allows us to know the love of God.

Well I don’t know about you, but I don’t feel all that blessed.  I suppose I’m probably mistaking being “blessed” with not being “pure” enough  for God.  The truth is that we are all pure enough for God.  God knows that we sin and loves us anyway.  For God’s message is love, acceptance, and unity spoken through the words of Jesus Christ.

This chapter in Matthew rings especially true today.  As hate and fear cloud our world, we must strive to show the world Love.  For this chapter is more than how we are blessed; it is a call for us to show blessedness to all, to Love as God Loves, and to find Human Unity to walk humbly, “together,” with God.
