Brad Payne Featured as Guest Artist at Ascension Coffee House on February 10th
The next Ascension Coffee House is scheduled for Friday, February 10th. Brad Payne will be the guest singer/songwriter. Brad is a self-taught guitar player/songwriter. He grew up in Rome, Georgia, and attended Coosa High School. He has earned degrees from Carson-Newman College, UT Knoxville, and Lincoln Memorial University. Brad and his lovely wife, Lynne, have three grown children, and currently reside in Cartersville, Georgia. Brad has been a teacher for the past thirty years, and currently teaches Physical Education at Cartersville Primary School. He hopes to retire before the year 2035. Brad enjoys most any music with the exception of hip-hop, pop, bee-bop, and rap. His major musical influences in his life have been CCR, many southern rock groups, Bob Dylan, Steve Earl, Merle Haggard, and various bluegrass groups. He plays guitar and sings with the Old Mill Road Band. Brad's hobbies include guitar, songwriting, and military history.
Rick McKee will continue his role as host musician. Admission is free, but donations for the Ascension Food Pantry are encouraged. In addition to canned vegetables, boxed macaroni and cheese, and ramen noodles; donations of cereal, cereal bars, fruit rollups, peanut butter and jelly, and cookies are also requested for children of our patrons. There is also a great need for dry dog and cat food for needy pets. All tips and donations collected will benefit ministries at Ascension.

Men's Breakfast
The men of Ascension will gather for breakfast this month on Saturday, February 11. The game plan will be as usual – breakfast at 9:00 am in the Parish Hall catered by Doug’s at a cost of $6.00 per plate. Bring a friend and come enjoy the fellowship.
