Ascension Coffee House, Friday March 12th,
to Feature Gene Brigham & Rick McKee

Ascension Coffee House will feature guest artist Gene Brigham on March 12th.  Gene is a singer/songwriter from Rome, Georgia. He has been performing in the Coosa Valley area and beyond since 1986. Gene toured the southern US with Deeper, a band he co-founded, from 1993 to 1995. Two of the band's original songs, “Would Give Anything” and “Rainy Day Sunday”, found airtime on college radio stations around the US in 1995.  A disc of original material, “Outside Looking In”, was released in 2002. The varied compilation includes the song “Coosa”, for which he has received some local notoriety. Gene is also a founding member of the Rome Area Songwriter's Association, a group of independent singer/songwriters from northwest Georgia.

Rick McKee will continue to serve as host and offer his original songs at the coffee house.  Rick is a singer/songwriter, composer, music educator, and multi-instrumentalist from Cartersville.  He has released two albums on the Cosmic Possum label.

All cash donations from this event this month will benefit Haitian Relief via The Episcopal Relief and Development Fund. Non-perishable food items are requested for the Ascension Food pantry.  Dry pet food donations are also encouraged for needy animals in our community.

Please join us from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Friday, March 12th in the parish hall at The Episcopal Church of The Ascension, 205 West Cherokee Avenue, Cartersville. Enjoy some great, live music and help a worthy cause! 

Men's Breakfast

The men of Ascension will gather in the Parish Hall at 9:00 a.m. for a delicious breakfast catered by Doug Jr’s. Please make plans to attend this great opportunity to fellowship with some wonderful guys.
