The place to begin your exploration into the life and ministry
of Jesus is to read the Holy
Scriptures, especially the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke
and John.
As his life
unfolds before you, introduce yourself to him as though you were
in his presence. Share with him something of your life: your frustrations
and your regrets; as well as those things which confuse and frighten
you.
Let him know
where you are hurting and asking him to let you know that you are
forgiven and accepted, just as you are. Also, ask him to help you
forgive those who have wronged you.
As you come
to know him, offer him your life to live as his own. Let him know
that you will pay attention to all he says to you, and experience
the joy he desires to give to you. Ask him for the gift of the Holy
Spirit.
Take time to
simply rest in his presence everyday.
Read a passage
from the Holy
Scriptures and ask him what it means.
Come together
with others who know and love him and talk about what he is doing
in your lives.
Seek for a
faith community where you may worship him regularly.
Offer him yourself
through your time, courage, skills, and even your money - everyday.
Continue to
learn about him through reading, talking, and simply being open
to his grace.
