Tuesday's Telling of Sunday's Homily

Sermon Summary for Sunday, October 2nd

Do you have enough faith?

Have you ever asked yourself whether or not you have enough faith?  How much faith do we need?  The apostles wanted more, but Jesus told them that it only takes faith the size of a mustard seed to command a mulberry tree to be uproot itself and plant itself in the sea.  What we heard in the Luke 17 was that faith is not some unreachable goal.  It is a responsibility that we all have as Christians.  It is the willingness to do what needs to be done.  It is not a scare resource that needs to be saved, spent, or added to.  It is simply the act of humbly following Jesus in our everyday lives - showing up to school or work, listening when someone needs to talk, reaching out to someone who needs a friend, volunteering to serve our neighbors, going to church, and inviting a friend to church.  How will you exercise your faith this week?

Be swift to love.  Make haste to be kind.  Go forth in peace to love and serve the Lord.
